Welcome to the FM FAQ!

This site is hosted by ISO FileMaker Magazine and is a community content site run within software known as a wiki. Anyone can make changes and updates to the pages on this site. The community contributes to the knowledge found within this FAQ about FileMaker.

If you don't even know what FileMaker software is and what it can do, then you should probably become familar by going to FileMaker Inc..

What's a wiki and why contribute?

Everyone knows something (rarely everything) about some topic - in this case we're talking about FileMaker software. This means the community pool of information is greater than that of the individual. In order to consolidate this information, a website like this wiki allows for the greatest concentration of information.

What's really great about this form of collaboration is that you can track the wiki as it evolves. To do this you can use a news aggregator. You can watch the recent changes by adding this link to your news aggregator application. XML Feed for Recent Changes

How can I get an account on this site?

Because the level of contributions to this FAQ are relatively low, we've opted to make registrations to this site something that is moderated. The site was starting to see a good number of content spammers and we want to make sure this site maintains a good level of quality content. We'll give an account to anyone who asks for one, but it may take a few days to get it setup. After you've got the account then you can make changes and additions to this site. Send email to faq@filemakermagazine.com to request an account.
