FileMaker 8 Developer Notations

Filemaker has some abnormalies that is worth noting when developing database. { Applies only to FM8 and FM8 Advance - version 8v1 }

1. If you are using instant web publishing with the dropdown calendar option, the date chosen by the user will advance by 1 day. This phenomenon does not occur in client mode.

2. If you draw a tab folder, using the tab tool, and includes more than 1 tab, take care how you set the tab order. (See following notes)

• If you initially set the tabs and tab order for the whole panel within one setup process (i.e. without exiting the tab order menu), the tab setup is fine.

• If you set the tabs and tab order partially, then open the tab order menu again to selectively add new tabs to the tab order, the first field in the tab order of the intial setup will be removed from the tab order. This means, effectively, that any re-setup of tab order requires a "total re-setup". [Needs confirmation]
